Have you noticed more and more people are blaming the media for their own problems? Shocking right? No! Once a "teen celeb" such as, Jamie Lynn Spears has a baby. It seems everyone is noticing the "rise" of teen pregnancy even though it has been here all along.
Well have I got some news for you. Teen pregnancy has been around since sex was thought of. I mean imagine Mrs. Cleaver walking in on her son Wally, while he is with his "girl". Un-speakable, yes? Well the fact is "way back when" during mid-evil times even. Pregancy among the young unmarried was shunned. They'd either exile you from there little "perfect" community or try to get a young girl married off to some old pervert. Imagine a poor 14 year old engaging in sexual incounters with a 50+ year old man just because her parents say he is a "proper suiter" and "will make a fine husband". BAH!
It's true that teens now are less hidden than usual about the Teenage Pregnancy Horror. But is it really a horror at all now? Teenage mothers & fathers(cant forget the daddies) are becoming more common than ever, but only once the media give us that "bit of info" that some teen star is preggie. I mean I don't mind walking around with my belly poking out.
"OLD WOMEN STARE ALL YOU LIKE, and YOUNG GIRLS LAUGH IF YA WANNA."

People are trying to say that we pregnant teens are ruining our life. NOT TRUE. That we are messing up a perfect unborn babys adventure in life...no. The thing is we stuck by our action, and we are proving that we have the same damn maternal instincts that any old lady birthing does. I believe I've read somewhere that "Age doesnt define how good of a parent you are." and I believe that. I can be a great mother, just as any teen who is pregnant can too, and also just that same as any normal aged person who is about or thinking about birthing a child.
Age is nothing compared to actions. Actions speak for everything: past, present, and future. Do you really want to look back on your PAST and see that you made a mistake and aborted a child, then at that moment in the PRESENT remember how it felt, how much you cried, and how sad that you were actually relieved, and how bad it is affecting your FUTURE...
My past, present, and future is going to contain my daughter. From the conception, to the day she gets her first tooth, says her first word, rides her first bike, meets her first little brother, gets her first doggy, breaks up with that boy for cheating, heads off to prom, graduates, fights with me, and then starts this process all over.
Children are everything- no matter how old you began to reproduce. Whether you've been trying to concieve for 5 years- having a baby on the first go.
It's a life changer...and it's worth every dirty look I get from strangers.
Enough said.
Thanks

Hey!
I find this post really interesting, in fact. Before reading this, I thought "Wow, a person must be really irresponsible to have a baby so young. What'll happen to her life?"
You know, I never really thought about how much thought some people are capable in making decisions this early - even though I suppose you could say I put in plenty of thought my own. Anyway, I wish you and your kid the best of luck, and thank you for putting things further in perspective for me.
